Romain Blanchard

Systems Architect

Dr. Romain Blanchard received his PhD in Applied Physics in the group of Federico Capasso at Harvard University and his M.S. from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France. His doctoral studies focused on wavelength control and beam engineering of quantum cascade lasers, as well as novel nano-optics technologies. He was the lead scientist in the Harvard team that demonstrated high power single mode lasers with multi-Watt output peak power, and contributed to the joint MIT Lincoln Laboratory-Harvard effort to develop high power QCL arrays with monolithically integrated power amplifiers. Dr. Blanchard joined Eos Photonics in 2013 as a Senior Scientist and became Pendar’s Systems Architect following the merger with Pendar Medical.
